Irish plant nursery business acquire Midlands garden centre

County Kildare based Caragh Nurseries, have announced the acquisition of Solihull based Earlswood Landscape & Garden Centre, in a deal advised on by GS Verde Group with funding provided by Beechbrook Capital.
Caragh Nurseries, based in County Kildare in Ireland was established in 1991, and are one of the most prominent nurseries in Ireland, delivering mature and semi-mature trees, shrubs, hedging as well as garden décor and accessories.
The acquisition of Earlswood Landscape and Garden Centre in Solihull, will allow the business to expand from Ireland into the United Kingdom, giving the business an excellent platform to build on an already well-established business, as well as increasing sales from plants grown as part of Caragh’s increased production plan.
Earlswood Landscape and Garden Centre was founded in 1995. The business is based from purpose built facility based close to the M42 motorway, it is a significant supplier of landscaping products, and the site includes a plant centre, retail operation and restaurant, as well as having its own timber and fabrication facility.
Caragh Nurseries is led by husband and wife team Ian and Jo McGarry. Speaking on the acquisition, Jo McGarry of Caragh Nurseries said: “We are delighted to have completed this acquisition, and to further expand Caragh’s operations into the UK. Earlswood is a great, thriving business, and we are excited to work with all the team in Earlswood to help grow the business further”.
It is the first acquisition made by Caragh, as the business explores routes to further expand its business. The multi-million pound transaction was advised on by dealmaking business GS Verde Group, significant funding provided by Beechbrook Capital.
